12:14 a.m.: arrest, Main Street, an off-duty officer reports he observed a male party believed to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, the warrant was confirmed, Adrian C. Zayas, 34, of 47 Broad St., was arrested on the warrant;
1:09 a.m.: arrest, Elm Street, an off-duty officer reports he observed a male party believed to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, the warrant was confirmed, Sean M. Pirnie, 36, of 14 Parker Ave., was arrested on the warrant;
1:54 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Park Square, Broad Street, a patrol officer reports she observed two persons at the city’s Green, the persons were advised of the usage hours of the park and left the area without incident;
5:33 a.m.: mutual aid, Worthington St., Springfield, Springfield firefighters request the assistance of a city engine or ladder truck, the deputy on duty reports Engine 4 was dispatched to assist the Springfield department at their Worthington Street headquarters;
11:13 a.m.: assist citizen, Aldrich Drive, a caller reports he has locked himself out of his running vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
12:20 p.m.: annoying phone calls, Notre Dame Apartments, 25 Collins St., a caller reports receiving annoying and threatening messages from a known person, the responding officer reports the caller said that the person is pestering her to assist him and she wants no further contact with him, the officer reports he advised the suspect to stop attempting to contact the caller;
9:08 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Hillside Road at Castle Hill Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed and stopped the vehicle, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and it was towed;
9:35 p.m.: fireworks complaint, Pequot Point Road, a call reports fireworks, the responding officer reports he spoke to the host of a small gathering who admitted expending fireworks but said he was finished, the officer reports the resident was advised of the pertinent laws and repercussions.

2:48 a.m.: disturbance, Security Manor, Broad Street, a caller reports a domestic disturbance, the responding officer reports he arrived to find two men outside arguing, the officer reports the men gave differing accounts of an unsuccessful social encounter which led to a physical encounter but neither party wished to pursue criminal charges;
8:40 a.m.: disturbance, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, a caller reports his wife slapped him for no apparent reason, the responding officer report he spoke with a couple who had been engaged in an altercation, the officer reports the man said that during an argument his wife slapped his face and he pushed her away, the woman said that the man invaded her personal space and she slapped him whereupon he pushed her against the wall, the officer reports he observed signs of injury about the man but not the woman, Hillary A. Hook, 24, of 868 Southampton Road, was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship;
11:52 a.m.: animal complaint, George Street, a caller reports taking custody of a stray dog, the responding animal control officer reports the intact black and white pit bull dog was transported to the municipal animal shelter;
1:13 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, a caller from a thrift store reports a person is stealing from the donation bin, the responding officer reports the suspect had left prior to his arrival but he went to the registered address of the suspect’s vehicle and a person there said that his father has been known to take items from the donation bin, the officer advised the man to ask his father to call the station and reports that criminal charges were held in abeyance pending the return of the property;
6:22 p.m.: fire, Pequot Point Road, a caller reports an old tree next to her house is smoking, the responding firefighters report the center area of a stump was found to be smoldering and was extinguished, the firefighters report the resident said he did not know how the stump ignited;
7:24 p.m.: disturbance, Farnham Lane, a caller reports his sister is intoxicated and out-of-control, the responding officer reports he found a female party screaming at a group of male parties and saw her charge the group, one of the male parties restrained the woman and the officer placed her in his cruiser, one of the males parties said that his sister is intoxicated, became abusive toward a guest and bit his arm, the officer observed distinct teeth marks, when he returned to his cruiser to speak with the woman she kicked at his groin and smashed her head against he plexiglass barrier, Colleen E. Carpenter, 23, of 35 Farnham Lane, was arrested for assault and battery and assault and battery on a police officer;
9:10 p.m.: fireworks, Dubois, George and Broad streets, Taylor, Reservoir and Foch avenues, Long Pond Road, Janelle Drive, callers report fireworks complaints, officers who were able to identify suspects report residents were advised of the pertinent regulations and warned of possible repercussions;
9:51 p.m.: disturbance, Elm Street, a caller reports a man is yelling at a woman in a wheelchair, the responding officer reports a man who appeared to be intoxicated and was subject to severe mood swings said he was engaged in a verbal dispute with his wife, the woman agreed to take care of the man but as the officer was leaving a child came running to him and said that his mother had told him to tell the officer that the man was attempting to purchase more alcohol, the man was placed in protective custody.
