12:16 a.m.: animal complaint, Southampton Road, Southampton police reports a caller reports striking a deer with her vehicle and being unsure which community she was in, the responding officer reports the accident occurred in Westfield, the operator told the woman that about six deer crossed the road in front of her vehicle and one struck the passenger side quarter panel of her car, the vehicle was damaged;
7:11 a.m.: suspicious activity, Riverbend Condos, 555 Russell Road, a caller reports a person is trying to open the doors of parked vehicles, the responding officer reports a female party was found whom the caller identified as the suspect, the officer found one vehicle which had been entered, the suspect said that she had found a key near the car and was merely returning it to the vehicle, the officer reports the owner of the vehicle was located and reported nothing to be missing from the car, the suspect was escorted to her mother’s residence where she has been living and her mother apprised the officer of her daughter’s recent activities, no charges were filed;
1:37 p.m.: found property, Elm Street, a wallet found on Elm Street near Orange Street was transported to the station for safe keeping;
3:36 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a caller from a bargain store reports a shoplifter has been detained in the store, the responding officer reports a store employee told him that a shoplifter had been seen to conceal ten seed packets valued at $18.45 and the man was accosted after he passed all the store’s pay points, the officer reports a criminal complaint for shoplifting by asportation was filed;
5:35 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have registration revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
8:30 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports a vehicle with a defective headlight was stopped, the officer reports the operator’s license was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed.
