1:52 a.m.: accident, East Mountain Road, a caller reports a car struck a utility police which snapped at the base, the responding officer reports the G&E was notified and responded, the operator was transported to Noble Hospital where she was treated and released;
9:09 a.m.: larceny, Mill Street, a resident came to the station to complain that a known person has taken her cell phone and won’t give it back, an officer reports he was able to speak with suspect who said that the complainant purchased the phone for his use but if she wants it back she can have it, the man came to the station within minutes and surrendered the phone, the officer reports the complainant was satisfied;
1:45 p.m.: unwanted guest, East Silver Street, a caller from an East Silver Street package store reports a man is attempting to cash in “filthy” returnable bottles and cans, the caller said that she does not want to accept the containers but the man will not leave, the responding officer reports that the man was served with a ‘No trespassing’ order;
2:14 p.m.: identity fraud, Pinewood Lane, a resident reports via the online reporting option that someone used his personal information to file a fraudulent tax return;
6:18 p.m.: warrant execution, Powder Mill Village, 126 Union St., detectives report that, pursuant to an ongoing investigation, a search warrant was executed and a wide variety of packaging materials, heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, cash and a number of bullets were seized, Leslie L. Hernandez, 34, of 126 Union St., was arrested for possession of a Class A drug (heroin) with intent to distribute, possession of a Class B drug (cocaine), possession of a Class B drug (crack cocaine) , possession of ammunition without a FID card and on a warrant issued in 2014 by the Springfield District Court, Jorge Rico Lopez, 27, of 25 Bayer St., Springfield, was arrested for possession of a Class A drug (heroin) with intent to distribute (a subsequent offense), possession of a Class B drug (cocaine), possession of a Class B drug (crack cocaine) and possession of ammunition without a FID card, Josue Torres-Colon, 37, of 126 Union St., was found to be in possession of a quantity of prescription pills for which he could not produce a prescription and he was arrested for being present where heroin was kept and for possession of a Class B drug (suboxone);
8:25 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street at Kellogg Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to have been revoked for lack of insurance and it was towed to the police impound yard;
8:55 p.m.: incapacitated person, Southampton Road, a caller from a Southampton Road bar and restaurant reports she will not allow an intoxicated customer to drive away from the establishment and the local taxi company will not accept the intoxicated fare, the responding officer reports the man was provided a courtesy transport to a Main Street address.
