1:52 a.m.: disturbance, Swiss Village Apartments, 82 South Maple Street, a caller reports an argument developed when her boyfriend came home and he threw her to the floor, the responding officer reports that the woman said when she tried to call police the man took her phone before he fled the apartment, officers found the man nearby, Juan A. Torres, 30, of 82 S. Maple St., was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship and for intimidating a witness;
2:02 p.m.: vandalism, Franklin Street, a resident came to the station to report vandalism to his rental property, the responding officer reports the complainant said that he has rented the property in question to college student and his inspection preparatory to their departure revealed significant and costly damage to paneling, the officer reports the landlord was advised that his issue with his tenants must be resolved in civil court;
3:31 p.m.: assault, Meadow Street, a caller reports a youth was beaten by another boy, the responding officer reports he found the victim sitting on a stoop who was unsteady on his feet when he tried to approach the officer, the youth said that he was walking with friends on Meadow Street when they encountered another group which included a youth who believes erroneously that the victim had taken money from his brother, the boy said that the other boy punched him repeatedly, a search of the area yielded no suspects;
4:40 p.m.: summons service, East Silver Street, officers were detailed to attempt the service of a protective order and were advised that the defendant of the order may be in the company of a male party who is the subject of an outstanding warrant, the party was found at his resident and the other man was also found, Bradford L. Gowing, 44, of 17 Dorne St., Springfield, was arrested on the warrant, see next entry;
6:38 p.m.: assist citizen, Cleveland Avenue, the domestic violence coordinator reports that a resident called her because she is afraid to go home because she was called in violation of a protective order by her husband who still has a key, the responding officer reports that while he was present the defendant called his wife four times and he could hear that the man acknowledge that he had recently been served with a protective order, the officer reports the man was found in an East Main Street parking lot, Daniel Rex, 43, of 8 Cleveland Ave., was arrested for violation of an abuse protection order;
7:03 p.m.: accident, Park Square, a caller reports a pedestrian was stuck by a motor vehicle, the responding officer report the 14-year-old victim said that she was struck by a vehicle while she was crossing Elm Street in a crosswalk and knocked on to the hood of the vehicle which hit her and did not stop, the girl said that she was not injured and walked home, the officer reports he was not immediately able to speak with the registered owner of the vehicle;
7:12 p.m.: assist citizen, Taylor Ave., a resident came to the station to request an officer to keep the peace as she gathers her possessions at her former residence, the responding officer reports the woman collected her property without incident;
7:50 p.m.: fraud, Pontoosic Road, a couple came to the station to report misuse of their credit card, the responding officer reports the complainants said that between April 23-30 nine charges totaling about $2,700 were fraudulently made on-line with their credit card, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the Detective Bureau;
9:29 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Noble Street, a patrol officer reps a routine check of a vehicle seen operating revealed that the owner’s license was suspended, the vehicle was stopped and the operator was found to be the owner, the officer reports that a pre-tow inventory revealed contraband and almost two ounces of marijuana was found packaged as if for sale along with hundreds of pills of various description and more than $5,000 in cash, Cynthia J. Dubay, 55, of 74 High St., West Springfield, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, distribution of a Class D drug (a subsequent offense), four charges of distribution of a Class B drug (a subsequent offense) and possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute;
9:42 p.m.: larceny, Berkshire Drive, a caller reports his bicycle was stolen in the past few hours, the responding officer reports the caller said that the bike had near the back door of his home and was not locked when it was stolen.
