8:13 a.m.: suspicious property, Western Avenue, a caller reports he observed bottle in the roadway which he fears may be a bottle bomb, the responding officer reports he disposed of a beer bottle;
11:43 a.m.: larceny, Monroe Street, a Granville resident came to the station to report her purse was stolen from her vehicle, the responding officer reports the victim said that she left the purse under her seat but may not have locked the car;
12:48 p.m.: fire, Klondike Avenue, a caller reports a fire, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports the resident said that she extinguished a grease fire in her kitchen;
1:58 p.m.: narcotics violation, Van Deusen Apartment, 42 Arnold St., detective reports a warrant was executed, see story in Monday’s edition of the The Westfield News;
2:53 p.m.: counterfeiting, Main Street, a caller reports a customer passed a counterfeit $20 at a convenience store;
2:55 p.m.: larceny, Holland Avenue, a resident came to the station to report that persons he hired to work in his apartment stole a diamond ring, the responding officer reports the victim said he had hired two persons to do some work in his residence and subsequently found that a gold and diamond ring was missing;
3:39 p.m.: suspicious property, Brenda Drive, a caller reports a suspicious bottle, the responding officer reports a bottle containing a blue liquid was found in the street near a partially full bottle of household cleaner, residents identified two boys seen with the bottle and the officer spoke with parents of both young teens, the bottle did not appear to be pressurize and was emptied;
4:09 p.m.: breaking and entering, Fowler St., a caller reports her vehicle was broken into overnight, the responding officer reports the woman said that she thought she had locked the vehicle but there were no signs of forcible entry, the woman said that her glove compartment was found to have been disturbed and she subsequently noticed that the face plate from her radio was missing;
4:24 p.m.: larceny, King Street, a resident came to the station to report that an unknown man stole her pain relieving medication, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she was walking home after filling her prescription and stopped to take one of the pills, the woman said she dumped pills into her hand in order to take one and a male party who had been nearby snatched the pills from her hand and fled, the woman said that she went home and her boyfriend searched for and found the suspect on King Street and confronted him but he fled, the officer noted that the woman said that 80 of her pills were missing and none had fallen from her hand when she poured them out or when the suspect allegedly snatched them;
4:41 p.m.: breaking and entering, Russellville Road, a caller reports his home was broken into and jewelry was stolen, the respond officer reports the caller said that his wife found the rear door had been forced open and checked to find that a jewelry box, jewelry, a watch and two iPods had been stolen, the officer noted that other items of obvious value in the room were not disturbed;
6:21 p.m.: narcotics violation, Conner Avenue, detective reports a warrant was executed, see story in Monday’s edition of the The Westfield News;
6:54 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Orange Street, a traffic bureau officer reports traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and non-renewable, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:19 p.m.: accident, Russellville Road, multiple callers report an accident, the responding officer reports a southbound vehicle on Russellville Road left the roadway and struck a utility pole before it caromed off and struck a second pole, both poles snapped and the G&E was notified, the operator declined medical assistance, a witness aid that the vehicle had been operating at a high rate of speed prior to the crash;
10:46 p.m.: liquor law violation, Dubois Street, the community policing supervisor reports a college aged liquor law violation;
11:35 p.m.: liquor law violation, Franklin Street, a community policing officer reports a liquor law violation;
11:54 p.m.: disturbance, Avery Street, a caller reports persons yelling are creating a disturbance, the responding officer reports about 20 college aged persons were found in an apartment and when officers began to investigate many more began to exit the cellar, officers counted at least 80 persons leaving, criminal complaints for disturbing the peace were issued to three tenants;
11:59 p.m.: liquor law violation, Church Street, a community policing officer reports a liquor law violation.
