8:45 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for an unregistered motor vehicle, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
9:07 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Arnold Street, a traffic bureau officer reports he encountered a vehicle parked in the municipal lot with expired registration, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
9:17 a.m.: accident, East Silver Street, a school resource officer reports a pupil reported to the school nurse that he was struck by a pickup truck while riding his bike en route to school, the SRO reports the child said that he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street and the operator left the area without imparting any information to the child, the SRO reports the pupil’s parents were notified;
10:14 a.m.: identity fraud, George Street, a resident came to the station to report that her name was used in the purchase of a luxury car, the responding officer reports the complainant said that her daughter bought a car in New Jersey using her name and as a consequence the complainant’s public assistance has been challenged because it appears that she purchased a luxury car;
12:27 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street at Franklin Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for an unregistered motor vehicle, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
12:43 p.m.: suspicious person, East Main Street, a caller reports that an ATM customer came into the bank when he got an error message on the ATM and became upset by the process required to resolve the issue, the man said he would return with a gun, the officer reports he spoke with the suspect who was very apologetic and said that he had become frustrated when he was unable to access his funds, the man said that he has no license to carry a firearm nor a firearms identification card and said that the only gun he owns is a BB rifle which he offered to surrender, the man was served a “No trespassing” order for the branch of the bank where he had created a disturbance;
1:09 p.m.: larceny, Summer Street, a resident came to the station to report his car was stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that he parks his car on Summer Street because he has no parking at his Franklin Avenue address, the man said that he parked the vehicle on Oct. 20 and found it missing earlier in the day;
2:25 p.m.: city ordinance violation, Clifton Street, a city building inspector and a police department code enforcement officer visited a junk dealer to serve a cease and desist order as the man no longer has a license to do business in the city, the officer reports an expired trailer registration plate which does not belong to the subject was seized as were city emergency management shirts;
3:16 p.m.: fire, Charles Street, a caller reports a burning complaint, the responding firefighters report the resident was advised of the complaint and extinguished his fire;
6:38 p.m.: breaking and entering, Powder Mill Village, 126 Union Street, a caller reports her apartment was broken into, the responding officer reports the caller said that she has been caring for her grandchildren while their mother is away and returns to her daughter’s apartment regularly, the woman said that when she visited the apartment last she discovered the sliding door was ajar, the woman said she does not know if anything is missing;
8:48 p.m.: disturbance, Honey Pot Road, a caller reports a disturbance, the responding officer reports he encountered a male party sitting on the ground who showed obvious signs of alcohol intoxication and was unable to stand without assistance, the man said that he did not want to go home and was unable to identify anyone who would care for him, the man was placed in protective custody;
9:17 p.m.: suspicious activity, Powder Mill Village, a patrol officer reports he observed two known parties enter a parked vehicle which did not leave the parking lot, the officer summoned assistance and when the officers spoke with the subjects they immediately detected an odor of burnt marijuana, both parties were removed for the vehicle and one was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, the property manager was notified;
10:47 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Shaker Road, a patrol officer reports he observed vehicle parked at the rail trail parking lot and observed two persons in the vehicle, the officer reports that a routine check revealed that one was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Jason D. McCoubrey, 35, of 3 Crawford St., was arrested on the warrant.
