12:48 a.m.: disturbance, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he saw two male youths run across Orange Street and seconds later was flagged down by a man who said that four teenaged boys had been smashing pumpkins, the office reports four teens were found who denied smashing pumpkins but were out of breath and appeared to have been running, the officer saw something sticking out of the back pocket of one of the boys and a pat frisk revealed it to be a machete, one of the boys was sent on his way, two were surrendered to parents and one was transported to the station where his father was notified;
3:24 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed on Franklin Street and used radar to determine the car was traveling at 70 mph in a 35 mph zone, the vehicle was stopped and the officer immediately detected an odor of marijuana, the officer noted an odor of alcohol on the operator’s breath when he exited the vehicle and was observed to be obviously impaired before he failed a field sobriety test, the officer observed at least three partially full bottles of alcohol in the car and operator and his three passengers acknowledged drinking alcohol at a dance club in Connecticut, Jonathan L. Llano, 31, of 186 Buckingham Street, Springfield, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor, operating under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked as an habitual traffic offender, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and speeding in violation of special regulations, the man was found to be in possession of pills said to have been purchased at the dance club as pain killing medication but another person in the car claimed ownership, Edwin Davila Jr., 34, of 40 Wilbraham Road, was arrested for possession of a Class E drug;
5:55 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed on East Main Street and used radar to determine the car was traveling at 52 mph in a 40 mph zone, the operator was found to be unlicensed, Francisyosua Diaz-Feliciano, 18, of 70 Grannada Terrace, Springfield, was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for speeding in violation of special regulations;
7:21 a.m.: assault and battery, Kane Brothers Circle, a Chester resident came to the station to reports she was assaulted by her boyfriend, the responding officer reports the woman said that she had been at her boyfriend’s residence when he came home about 4:30 a.m. and an argument developed, the woman said the man grabbed her hair and pulled her to the floor, dragged her across the floor and then pulled her to her feet, the woman said she was able to get away from him and he chased her around the residence and during a part of the chase he brandished a knife he had picked up in the kitchen, the woman said that when he put down the knife she hid it, the man’s parents awoke and the woman was able to flee the house and went to the station where the officer noticed bruises and signs of injury, officers sought the man at his home where his parents allowed them to look for the knife which they found where the woman said she hid it, the young man acknowledged an argument but denied any assault, Justin A. Labarre, 24, of 76 Kane Brothers Circle, was arrested of assault and battery in a domestic relationship and for assault with a dangerous weapon;
7:25 a.m.: animal complaint, North Road, a caller reports his neighbors keeps chicken in a coop near their property border and the birds are disturbing the peace, the animal control officer was notified;
9:25 a.m.: fire, Canal Drive, an alarm company reports a fire alarm, the responding firefighters report food on the stove had been burning but was extinguished by the residents;
12:04 p.m.: violation of a protective order, Kellogg Street, a resident came to the station to report the violation of a protective order, the responding officer reports the woman said that her estranged husband dropped off their children and then exited the vehicle and lingered in violation of the “No contact” clause of the order;
2:09 p.m.: fire, Plymouth Lane, a caller reports a burning complaint, the responding firefighters report the resident was advised of the pertinent city ordinances and extinguished the fire;
2:50 p.m.: fire, Westfield Woman’s Club, 28 Court St., an alarm was received indicating a fire in the basement, the responding firefighters report the alarm was apparently activated by a fog machine at a Halloween party;
4:20 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller reports a shoplifter stole from a Springfield Road department store, the responding officer reports store personnel told him that a male party who had been seen putting DVD movies in a basket exited the store before employees could detain him, the man reportedly fled into a nearby wooded area, the officer reports he spoke with a person at a nearby trailer park who said that a man exited the woods with a shopping basket which he discarded after emptying it into a waiting vehicle which left the area;
6:07 p.m.: traffic complaint, East Mountain Road, a patrol officer reports he encountered an overturned trailer, the officer reports the road was blocked briefly while the trailer was uprighted;
6:20 p.m.; traffic complaint, North Road, a caller requests assistance with a disabled vehicle, the responding officer reports a routine check revealed that the owner of the vehicle was the subject of an outstanding warrant, the operator was found to be the owner and the warrant was confirmed, Christine M. Valle, 36, of 258 Linden St., Pittsfield, was arrested on the warrant;
7:36 p.m.: assist citizen, Russell Road, a caller reports a male party’s motorized wheelchair is running out of power, the responding officer reports a resident allowed the person to plug in his wheelchair, the officer reports the man went on his way after charging the wheelchair for about an hour, at 9:02 the officer reports that the man’s wheelchair was again discharged, the man was transported to his home by Westfield Fire Department ambulance and a police vehicle transported the chair;
9:56 p.m.: fire, Shepard St., a caller reports a bonfire, the responding firefighters report the resident was advised of the pertinent city ordinances and extinguished the fire;
10:01 p.m.: disturbance, Southwick Road, a caller reports she may have been assaulted, the responding officer reports a routine check of the participants revealed that a male party present was the subject of outstanding warrant, Nathan M. King, 35, of 514 Southwick Road, was arrested on the warrants;
11:25 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Delmont Avenue, a patrol office reports that he encountered and stopped a vehicle which had been reportedly operated erratically earlier, the officer reports a routine check of the operator revealed her to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Amanda L. Eicher, 25, of 14 Holland Ave., was arrested on the warrant;
11:34 p.m.: noise complaint, Jefferson St., a caller reports a large party is disturbing his peace, the responding community policing office reports a citation was issued for a liquor law violation, about 80 persons were dispersed and the landlord was notified;

12:36 a.m.: disturbance, Clark Street, a caller reports neighbors are creating excessive noise, the responding community policing office reports more than 100 college aged guests were dispersed and the tenants were advised that community police will be speaking with them;
12:41 a.m.: disturbance, East Bartlett Street, a caller reports a large college aged party, the responding community policing office reports the tenants were initially uncooperative and did not answer the door, when the officers were admitted about 90 persons were found hiding in the attic, the guests were dispersed and the landlord was notified;
1:05 a.m.: liquor law violation, Bartlett Street, a patrol officer reports she observed a male party carrying a partially full beer bottle, a city ordinance violation citation was filed;
1:38 a.m.: disturbance, Mechanic Street, a caller reports a large college aged party, the responding office reports about 40 persons were dispersed;
1:48 a.m.: disturbance, East Bartlett Street, a caller reports a large college aged party, the responding office reports about 15 persons were dispersed;
1:54 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street at Madison Street, a patrol officer reports she observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red traffic signal and stopped the vehicle after she observed it to drift cross the double yellow line, the officer reports the operator was obviously highly intoxicated, not wearing a seat belt and she saw open cans of beer in both front seat cup holders, Madelyn Moodie, 18, of 126 Union St., was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and failure to wear a seat belt as well as a marked lances violation and a red light violation;
7:42 a.m.; breaking and entering, West School Street, a caller reports a male party is sleeping in the caller’s vehicle, the responding officer reports the caller said that he went out to his unlocked vehicle and found an unknown male party asleep inside, the officer reports the man was removed from the vehicle, identified and advised that a criminal complaint was filed;
10:28 a.m.: breaking and entering, Union Avenue, a caller reports her apartment was broken into and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that her electricity has been disconnected and she has been sleeping at a friend’s residence, the woman said she returned to her apartment and found that it had been entered, about 50 DVD movies, her medications and her wallet had been stolen, entry was apparently made via an unlocked window;
10:34 a.m.; vandalism, Orange Street, a caller reports window of her vehicle was smashed overnight, the responding officer reports the caller said that she parked her car in front of her residence about 5 p.m. and the next day found that a side window had been smashed, nothing was reported to be missing from the vehicle;
12:24 p.m.: fire, Dry Bridge Road at Florence Street, a caller reports children are trying to light a pile of leaves on fire, dual response dispatched, the responding firefighters report a witness said that he had seen two boys trying to ignite a large pile of leaves, the firefighters report no charring was found, the responding officer reports he identified a juvenile suspect who said that he had found a book of matches and lit one match, the officer warned the boy about fires;
2:50 p.m.: fire, Carroll Drive, a caller reports a burning complaint, the responding firefighters report that a resident had a fully enclosed fire which was not smoky but the resident agreed to extinguish his fire because a neighbor complained;
3:34 p.m.: suspicious person, Woodcliff Drive, a caller reports his 11-year-old son and a friend were threatened by another boy with a knife, the responding officer reports the victim identified the 10-year-old suspect and the officer spoke with the boy and a parent, the boy was found to have a folding knife and said the he had been playing with it but denied threatening the other boys, the caller said that he did not wish to pursue criminal charges;
4:40 p.m.: larceny, Russell Road, a caller reports a propane tank on a disaster relief mobile kitchen trailer was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that the tank had been strapped in place on the exterior of the trailer which is stored in the yard of a Russell Road automotive repair facility and was known to be in place on Friday;
5:06 p.m.: assault, Union Street, a caller reports her boyfriend was assaulted when he went to get his children from their mother, the responding officer reports he was told that the man and his children’s mother had been talking amicably when her new boyfriend approached and instigated an altercation, the victim said that the man pushed and punched him, the officer reports the suspect acknowledged the altercation but denied an assault occurred, no charges were filed;
5:11 p.m.: breaking and entering, Valley View Drive, a caller reports her vehicle was entered and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that her unlocked vehicle was entered and her wallet was stolen, the woman said that she believes a friend’s vehicle was also entered but she does not know if her friend is going to report the incident;
5:57 p.m.; fire, Highland View Street, a caller reports a large bonfire, the responding firefighters report a resident was found to be burning brush and was advised of the pertinent city ordinances, the resident extinguished the fire;
7:48 p.m.: assist citizen, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Road, a caller reports she is locked inside the cemetery, the responding officer reports the caller said that she came to the cemetery to visit the graves of family members and when she was ready to leave found all the gates had been locked, the officer reports he was able to obtain a key to a gate and let her exit, the gate was secured;
7:55 p.m.: arrest. Powder Mil Village, 126 Union St., a community policing officer reps he observed that a known party believed to be the subject of an outstanding warrant was at his residence, the warrant was confirmed, James M. Palumbo, 33, if 126 Union St., was arrested on the warrant without incident;
10:10 p.m.: breaking and entering, Court Street, a caller reports her vehicle was broken into and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that the her unlocked vehicle had been parked on her property since 2 p.m. and she found that it had been entered, two refillable lighters and about $5 in coin were found to have been stolen.
