WESTFIELD – Westfield United completed an undefeated regular season last weekend with a 14-0 record.
The girls’ soccer team defeated Monson 3-2 on Saturday, and, one day later, shut out Ludlow 3-0. They outscored their opponents 52-12.
On Saturday, Emma Pedolzky, Maggie Prystowski, and Catie Bean each scored a goal as the team edged Monson. Chandler Pedolzky (offensive player), Alyssa Piper (defensive player), and goalie Makenzie Ritchie contributed to the victory.
On Sunday, the same three goal scorers from the day before netted a goal apiece in the shutout of Ludlow. Chloe Lussier (offensive player), Catherine Morrissey (defensive player), and goalie Ellen Jury delivered for United.
“I am very proud of these talented athletes,” United coach Brent Bean said. “Being undefeated in season is a significant accomplishment but I am even more proud of their spirit and sportsmanship.  It was a tough and physical season but they all stepped up and worked together to get the win, support each other, and more importantly they had fun. Our players and parents represented Westfield very well and I know I speak for Zyg and Rena when I say it was an honor coaching this wonderful group of young women.”
