12:20 a.m.: liquor law violation, a patrol officer reports a liquor law violation, a patrol officer reports he observed a group of youths walking on Spring Street and one was carrying a bottle which he discarded when he saw the officer, the youth was required to retrieve the bottle which was found to contain alcohol, a city ordinance violation citation for possession of an open container of alcohol in public was filed;
12:42 a.m.: abandoned vehicle, Pochassic Road, a dispatcher from CSX Railroad reports a vehicle is abandoned or wrecked dangerously closely to the rails and a slow speed train has been dispatched to highlight the obstruction, the responding officer reports a vehicle was found in a ditch near the tracks with an operator standing nearby who was found to be younger than the legal drinking age, the officer reports alcohol containers were in plain view in the vehicle, the operator said that he had been driving on the tracks to turn around when his vehicle became stuck, Drew M. Jacque, 19, of 5 Kingsberry Lane, Southampton was arrested for being a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of liquor and walking or riding on a railroad track, during the booking process Jacque was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
6:59 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Broad Street at Bush Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have expired registration, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
8:59 a.m.: animal complaint, Pleasant Street, a caller reports a cat has been struck by a vehicle and is injured but alive, the responding officer reports the cat was suffering from a severe injury and was dispatched;
2:12 p.m.: found property, Church Street, a caller reports finding a black ten-speed bicycle on his lawn, the responding officer reports the bike was transported to the station for safe keeping;
2:20 p.m.: suspicious person, Park Square, a caller reports seeing youths riding bicycles on the new granite at Park Square, the responding officer reports he advised the youths that they may not ride on the structures at the Green and they agreed to go to the skate park;
3:00 p.m.: suspicious person, East Main Street, an off duty officer reports he observed a female party panhandling on a traffic island, the responding officer reports the woman said that she would be boarding a Holyoke bound bus;
7:24 p.m.: alarm, Union Street, an alarm was activated at a commercial building, the responding officer reports he found an office window open which had been closed when he last checked the building, a key holder responded and reports that a computer was stolen by an intruder;
10:37 p.m.: noise complaint, a caller reports a boisterous college aged party, the responding officer reports 30-40 person were present for an college alumni party, the gathering was dispersed and peace was restored;

12:26 a.m.: animal complaint, The Willows Apartments, 19 Lockhouse Road, a caller reports taking custody of a St. Bernard dog which does not have a collar, an animal control officer was dispatched and reports the dog was transported to the municipal animal shelter;
12:58 a.m.: alarm, Meadow Street, a caller reports a motion detector alarm at a convenience store, the responding officer reports he inspected the store with a key holder and found a three inch hole in a front window and a rock inside the store;
3:49 a.m.: officer wanted, Bancroft Apartments, 125 Main St., a caller reports a female party in the entryway of the apartment building may have been stranded, the responding officer reports a female party was provide a courtesy transport to a Ladyslipper Circle address;
4:01 a.m.: suspicious vehicle, Chapman Playground, St. Paul Street, a patrol officer reports he observed an occupied vehicle parked at the playground, the officer reports the occupants were advised of the curfew at the park and left the area;
4:42 a.m.: disturbance, Pochassic Street, a caller reports a female party is threatening her with a pair of scissors, the responding officer reports he found two intoxicated female parties engaged in a verbal debate and immediately secured a pair of scissors present, the resident said that the intoxicated pair was no longer welcome but neither woman could identify anybody who would care for them, both women were placed in protective custody;
10:14 a.m.: found property, Municipal Parking Lot, Church Street, a Wayland resident came to the station to surrender a key ring she reported she had found atop a car parked in the municipal lot;
3:14 p.m.: fire, Orange Street, a caller reports thick white smoke in the area, the responding firefighters report residents were found to be cooking on an outdoor grill which was making considerable smoke, the residents were advised of their neighbors’ concerns and attempted to limit the smoke as they continued their barbeque;
3:51 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store reports a shoplifter has been detained in the store, the responding officer reports store employees reported that a woman had been seen concealing merchandise in her purse and was detained when she attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise valued at $48.31 which was recovered, Karina E. Piispanen, 20, of 222 Huntington Road, Chester, was arrested for shoplifting by concealing merchandise;
10:28 p.m.: disturbance, Elm Street, a caller reports a known person who has previously been served a ‘No trespassing’ order is in the store creating a disturbance, the responding officer reports he found two male parties one of whom was yelling and trying to engage the other man in a fight, Moise Lopez, 44, of 13 Clark St., was arrested for disorderly conduct;
10:38 p.m.: larceny, Belmont Street, a caller reports a chain saw valued at $1,100 was stolen from his front yard, the respond officer reports the caller said that he had returned home and unloaded his truck on his lawn before putting his equipment away, the man said that he had stored everything except the saw when he returned for it and found it missing;
11:48 p.m.: disturbance, Russell Road, a caller reports her son was assaulted by a known party, the responding officer reports the victim said that during an argument the other man punched him repeatedly and tore his clothing, the officer reports the suspect said that he pushed the man but did not punch him, a criminal complaint was filed;
11:50 p.m.: assist other agency, Briarwood Place, a probation officer requests assistance serving a warrant on a probationer, the responding officer reports the suspect was found at his home address, Miles A. Burns III, 27, of 22 Briarwood Place, was arrested on the warrant without incident.
