This is in reference to the Twiss Street landfill. I know there is a $10 charge but does that mean every time we bring grass clippings we are charged or is it $10 to empty additional trash? If you could look into that for me, I’d appreciate it. Thank you. Residents may obtain a transfer station sticker from the Health Department at City Hall for $10, which is good for one year. This allows entrance to the Twiss Street Transfer station every day it is open for a year. There is no additional charge for grass clippings and brush. There are additional fees for items such as mattresses, televisions, computers, etc. These items must have stickers on them, which can be purchased at City Hall or either Big Y Westfield location. A one-day pass can be purchased for $5 for residents who do not have a sticker.

I recently had to use the Westfield Food Bank and wanted to know why, if you know someone who works there, you get more food than others?

My name is Jonathan Huntley, and I am a Boy Scout of Troop 821 out of Blessed Sacrament. I am currently working on my Eagle Scout Service Project. Part of this project is a Flag Retirement Ceremony to respectfully burn old and worn American Flags. This will take place in the parking lot of the First Congregational Church of Southampton (212 College Highway) on September 8, 2012 at 3:30pm. I would like to invite anyone interested to attend, and I would especially love to have as many veterans as possible attend the ceremony. Thank you for your support.
