Pulseline

I have a question: is it really necessary for so many roads in Westfield that have been repaved in the last four years to delaminate, making such large potholes? Is there not some method available to repave roads on a more permanent basis? It may just be my imagination but it does seem the pothole problem is not nearly so severe in surrounding states.

This is for the person or persons breaking into cars and homes in the Joseph Avenue area.  Massachusetts law states owners must retreat or call the cops and not use deadly force to protect themselves, their families, or their property.  Be advised not all people care about or will follow this stupid law and then you will be hospitalized or dead burglars and your intended victim will swear he saw the knife you wielded.

Why do you refuse to print any of my comments about increasing the mayor’s salary, when what it boils down to is politicians able by a vote to raise their own salaries? Why do you refuse to ignore this issue? We print all comments as long as they meet our criteria. If you’re calling in your comments, those are low priority due to the time it takes to transcribe the calls and will be printed when time allows. E-mailed or online submissions go first.  Your phoned in submission re: the mayor’s salary ran this week on on Monday.

Yeah, this is to the PulseLine, OK? My legitimate complaints are legitimate, no different than anybody else who calls in your phone regarding complaints about the town, and traffic, and bridges, and trash, and all kinds of stuff that goes on in this town. And the mayor.  And complaints about this and complaints about that. Some talking about defeating trash around that can help improve by community service and cleaning up a problem under a bridge is legitimate problems of complaint.  It should be well-known.  No different than anyone else calling in with a complaint.  So, if my complaint is such a big problem, OK, then maybe there shouldn’t be a PulseLine.  Maybe they should just forget about the PulseLine.  Because, you see, they should tell everyone else not complain about anything either, and just don’t care no more.  Which is better because then nobody would even bother making any difference or any changes in anything, to improve anything, OK? I only made it well-known that they should do something about this situation, OK? A little bit more.  That’s all I said.  And I had a right to say that. And on top of that, I care about Westfield and I care about this town, you know? I know there’s city ordinance on dogs and the homeless and all that stuff. But, you know, it’s nice to be able to have it well-known to see how many people really care about this town and changing things that could be done better, OK? So, I don’t need anyone criticizing me for the complaints I put in this paper.  Because, you know, other people put complaints in about the bridges, and the mayors, and the roads, and the traffic, and the cops and the pedestrians, and dogs, too.  And a whole lot of other things. So, you see, I just figured I’d make my point clear about that.  That my complaints are legitimate.  And it’s to help try, because I care about this town.  I care about a lot of things.  And I don’t need anybody telling me that I have no right to care.  And I do plan, if I see things, to call the police, too, OK? But, you know, it’s nice to have the whole town of Westfield and people to see that, to be aware, so hopefully they can change the way maybe they do things wrong or do something better. That’s all.  Bye.

Yes, I would like to comment on the Westfield PulseLine.  I would like to comment about you people saying something about the homeless people and living under a bridge.  I think it’s very unsanitary to have human feces under the bridge.  At least 30 piles of human feces under the bridge. And clothes.  And people living under the bridge.  And the first bridge, the green bridge.  And I think people should start cleaning up there after the city and the people and the taxpayers’ money went into both bridges for fixing up things.  And Westfield Police and DPW about being sanitary under the bridge and looking it’s best for the city of Westfield. They don’t put no effort for cleaning underneath and kicking the bums, the homeless people, out of there.  And I’m a Westfield resident of the city for over 45 years and my opinion should count.  I would like to comment on the Westfield Police Department.  They spend all this money for the two bridges and the park down by North End. They should put more cameras up because I’ve been a resident for 44 years and I’ve seen spray paint, not graffiti, but damage down there.  They spray half the bridge community service from the court house when they give these kids community services.  They should be cleaning all that up, you know, like people, spraying on bridges and stuff.  Well, graffiti, you know. Our tax money just paid, and the grant just paid, for all this to be done.  And there’s kids out there, spray painting in the city, you know, to the cement park where the green was.  And I’d like to comment to that.  DPW should be working about that, you know? Cleaning all that up because there’s human feces down there and everything.  I would like to have everything cleaned up.  All this money is going out for nothing. Yes, I would like to also comment on city ordinances.  Like business owners and home owners should clean up in front of their businesses or homes. Like between the cigarette butts and the trash that’s being thrown.  Business owners and home owners: everything needs to be cleaned and orderly. Westfield Police should be cracking down on things and having everything cleaned in the city of Westfield. Yes, I’ve called the police.  And they don’t come.  They don’t.  They don’t respond to the calls or anything. I don’t really understand things.  Have a good night, Westfield. And hopefully Westfield PulseLine will respond to this.  Thank you very much.  Bye-bye.

Southwick: we have a very nice park right behind the town hall called Prifti Park, named after probably one of the best selectmen that ever represented this town.  It has picnic tables, a playground, and a lot of area for your children to run around, it has barbecue pits there for having a picnic, etc. But what I’ve noticed lately: there’s no sign along the main road letting people know that we do have a park there. Maybe the town fathers could find money to erect a sign so that we could get more use out of it.
