Robert Davidson

 

Southwick -Robert J. Davidson, Sr. 76, of Southwick, passed away late Wednesday evening, May 6, 2014 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side. He was born in Springfield, educated in Southwick, a son of the late Orion and Eva (Allen) Davidson. A proud retired teamster, Bob was respected by his fellow brethren as a long time union steward of locals # 671 and # 404. Bob was an amazing truck driver that provided for his family and all those that entered his home. Growing up on North Pond, he had a passion for ice hockey, baseball and fishing. In recent years, he enjoyed bass fishing with his sons. Well-traveled, Boch and Pop camped much of the East Coast and took a fantastic cross-country road trip West to South Dakota and Yellowstone. He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Carol E. (Sullivan) Davidson; four sons, Robert J. Davidson, Jr., and his wife Christine of Westfield, Raymond D. Davidson and his wife Mary Beth of Westfield, his late son, Roland B. “Brent” Davidson who died in 2011 and his wife Theresa of Southwick, and Derrick C. Davidson and his wife Lisa of Southwick. He kept a proud eye on his grandchildren, Kyle, Casey, Sam, Mitchell and Meghan as well as his great granddaughter, Riley. He also leaves a brother Olan Z. Davidson of TX. Calling hours will be held at the Southwick’s Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, on Sunday, May 10th from 2-4 PM with a candlelight service beginning at 4:00PM.
