Setting records straight

UTICA, N.Y. – Westfield State’s Michael Skelly, John Latour and Tevin Cintron set facility records in winning events at the Doris and Walt Miga Invitational indoor track and field meet at the Todd and Jen Hutton Sports and Recreation Center at Utica College on Saturday.
No team scores were recorded at the meet.
Skelly got home first in the 3000 meters in a time of 8:52.78. LaTour took the long jump title with a leap of 6.89 meters, and
Cintron’s time of 1:58.69 was almost a full two seconds ahead of his closest challenger in the 800 meters.
Westfield State also got a winning performance from Patrick Delisle in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.20 meters.
Westfield will be back in action next Saturday at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championship Meet at Plymouth State.

WOMEN’S RESULTS
Westfield State University sophomore Jessie Cardin set a facility record in winning the 3000 meters at the Doris and Walt Miga Invitational indoor track and field meet at the Todd and Jen Hutton Sports and Recreation Center at Utica College on Saturday.

Cardin posted a time of 10:37.30 in the event to headline a number of Owls athletes who won their events.
Naloti Palma doubled up in winning the shot put and the 20-lb weight throw. Ashley Craig won the pole vault with a height of 3.50 meters (11′-5.7″).
Brianna Deloury topped the high jump at 1.53 meters (5′-1″).
Other winners for the Owls included Sabrina Pray 60 meter hurdles; Ashley Monahan 800 meters; and
Valdemira Fernandes won the 60 meters and placed second in the 200 meters.
Westfield also won the 4×200 relay and the distance medley relay events.
The meet was not scored.
