Shia, 35 others sack ‘Putz’

NFLlogoCongratulations to Alan Shia, of Westfield who won Week 5 of our “Beat ‘The Putz’” NFL contest. Shia claimed the week’s best record at 11-1.
Unfortunately for me, I was average again at best at 7-5. Fortunately for you guys and gals, anyone who finished with records of 10-2 (2 entries), 9-3 (10 entries), and 8-4 (23 entries), earned a golden ticket in our end-of-season drawing for the grand prize.
Just a reminder, prizes can be claimed at the Westfield News headquarters, located at 62 School Street right in the heart of the Whip City.
Now on to this week.
The Denver-Jacksonville game, best typifies the Week 6 schedule of games. The Broncos opened the week as a 28-point favorite, the second largest spread in more than four decades. There is a potential for many blowouts this week.
But, there is one game on everybody’s radar – the unbeaten New Orleans Saints at the New England Patriots.
It will be intriguing to see if Patriots quarterback Tom Brady can get that offense turned around. A healthy Rob Gronkowski would go a long way in aiding the Pats’ general’s cause.
Our Sunday night tiebreaker game features the Washington Redskins at the Dallas Cowboys.
