Shias latest ‘Beat the Putz’ champ

NFLlogoI dragged my feet writing this recap of our weekly pro football contest, “Beat ‘The Putz’”.
I just couldn’t bear to rehash the results of my 6-8 stinker in Week Two. I should’ve known when I hemmed and hawed over the picks that it was going to be a doozy. I just didn’t know how bad.
But that’s what makes Judy Shia’s Week 2 performance all the more impressive.
It was a family affair for the Shias as it was Judy’s husband, Alan, who, in fact, made the picks on multiple original entry sheets.
Judy/Alan went 9-5, tying seven others, and survived the tiebreaker with a perfect 44.
“The games that were questionable, I would do one team on one sheet and the other team on another,” Alan said. “I never saw the New Orleans (upset) coming (though).”
The Saints, and several other favorites were beat in stunning fashion Sunday, knocking millions (maybe even billions) out of survivor pools all across the country.
Most contestants fell short with the Rams, Dolphins, Ravens, and Eagles.
The only constant this season appears to be the Patriots, who are on a quest to deflate the hopes of 31 other NFL teams.
New England figures to destroy the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend in Foxboro. While that game may be a gimme for the Patriots, there are several others that are not so easy to judge like the Bills-Dolphins, Bengals-Ravens, or Eagles-Jets.
Notes: A total of 18 people went 8-6 in Week Two with 21 others going 7-7 to earn entry into the grand prize drawing.
