WESTFIELD – Smith Voke held St. Mary’s to just four points in the second quarter en route to a 64-42 win over the Saints in a high school boys basketball game Wednesday night.
“We fought tough in the second (half),” St. Mary coach Joe Molta said. “We played much better; we shot the ball better. Unfortunately it was too big of a hole to come out of.”
Mike Pepe led St. Mary’s with 19 points. Saints’ Brady Collins had eight, Luke Willenborg finished with seven, and Jack Lamirande had six.
St. Mary’s returns to action Friday at McCann Tech. Tip-off is at 6:30 p.m.
