Starfires to launch fireworks display Aug. 6 at Bullens Field

WESTFIELD – Fans attending the Westfield Starfires game on August 6 will not only get to see some of the best collegiate summer ball in the country, but they will also get to see some post-game fireworks.
The Westfield Starfires have announced they will host a fireworks celebration for fans after the Friday game.
The fireworks are handled by Atlas PyroVision Entertainment of New Hampshire, and presented in partnership with St Germain Investments, Trinity Health of New England, Mestek, IBS Electronics & Security and KFC.
The City of Westfield and surrounding towns have passed on Fourth of July fireworks celebration, due mainly to scheduling issues.
The Starfires hope, in a small way, to remedy that situation.
“It is a way for us to let our fans celebrate our team and our city,” the Westfield Starfires said in a prepared statement. “We have received generous support from corporate sponsors, fans, and the community at large. We had scheduled this event during the offseason with the hope that we would have an opportunity to celebrate together.”
The fireworks display will only be viewable from inside Bullens Field and will take place directly after the conclusion of the game.
A couple weeks ago, the Starfires, who recently enjoyed their first-ever advance sell-out crowd at Bullens Field, celebrated an explosion of other sorts when they scored the most runs in one game in franchise history, a 16-3 rout of the Norwich Sea Unicorns. In that game, Peter DeMaria went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs.
The Starfires are currently seated in sixth place in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League at 16-18. They will be showcased on New England Sports Network for the second straight summer when they travel to Norwich July 24 to take on the Sea Unicorns.
Tickets for the Westfield Starfires games are available online through westfieldstarfires.com and at the Bullens Field Box Office or by calling (413) 335-0443. – The Westfield Starfires contributed to this article.
