Stinehart leads WHS state swimmers

CAMBRIDGE – Westfield High School boys’ swimmer Jimmy Stinehart had a solid outing at the state’s Division I boys’ swimming and diving championships late Sunday.
Stinehart not only cracked the top 10 in two individual events – 500 freestyle (6th, 22.30) and 100 free (8th, 49.34) –  but also helped fuel the Bombers’ fifth place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:42.41) with Matt Jacobson, Matt LaBombard, and John Dolan and 10th place standing in the 400 free relay (3:23.37) with Tim Kwarcinski, LaBombard, and Dolan.
Kwarcinski went on to have the team’s highest finish of the day, placing fourth in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:59.90. LaBombard was eight in the 100 fly (55.27).
The Bombers placed ninth with 103 points. St. John’s Prep was first with 374.
