Thanks a lot

I’d like to preface my weekly “Beat ‘The Putz’” pro football contest column by thanking my assistant for pointing out my resilience in bouncing back like the Patriots this past Sunday to go 9-3 in Week 11.
Thanks Melissa!
Six entrants went 11-1 on Sunday with Jack Pelli, of Westfield edging out five others with his tiebreaker total of 58 points. The actual total points of Sunday night’s contest was 66.
Pelli becomes our second multi-week winner this year. He will take home a gift certificate to The Tavern Restaurant, and will be eligible for our grand prize drawing for a flat-screen television, courtesy of Manny’s TV & Appliances.
Beat The Putz PictureSome interesting tidbits from our contest data, once again, thanks to Melissa Hartman (what would I do without her?):
– Five out of the six 11-1 winners each lost the same game: Tampa Bay vs. Kansas City;
– One player out of our top six entrants failed to write down a tiebreaker point total (in both submitted entries, no less);
– And, two family members sent in photocopies, thus disqualifying them for this round. Only original contest forms are accepted.
In keeping with the theme of the week, I’d like to be the first to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for being loyal customers, participants, and good luck in Week 12.
I don’t think the Patriots will need any luck this week as they travel to New York to face the lowly Jets. Don’t forget to choose a winner from our Sunday night tiebreaker, the Kansas City Chiefs at the Denver Broncos (and a prediction for the total points scored by both teams). – CP
