HARTFORD, Conn. – Westfield State volleyball dropped a pair of matches at the Trinity College Invitational on Saturday, falling to Eastern Connecticut State University and the host Bantams by 3-0 scores.
Against Eastern, the Owls fell 25-15, 25-11, 25-15. Jen Green’s six kills paced the Owls attack, with Paige Donahue adding five. Natasha Belardo and Lizzy Taylor each had eight digs. Adrianna Mihalek led the Warriors with 14 kills.
Trinity topped the Owls in three close sets, 25-19, 27-25, 25-18. Donahue had seven kills for Westfield, while Taylor came up with 27 digs. Rachel Underwood’s nine kills led the Bantams.
Westfield drops to 0-7 on the season, while Trinity is now 1-2. Westfield State will next travel to MCLA for its first MASCAC match of the season on Tuesday night. – Courtesy of Westfield State University Sports
