Velis wishes all Happy Holidays

JOHN C. VELIS

Hello Westfield!

It is getting closer to the holidays and I hope everyone is able to find something to do that they enjoy this season whether that means an activity you love or being able to see family and friends, whatever that means for you!  Though I love this time of year it has been bitterly cold, so I hope you are all able to stay warm and enjoy the holidays!

This week I attended the POW/MIA remembrance table dedication ceremony at the Westfield Council on Aging who now has two tables in honor of those who are still missing.  It is so important that we do not forget about the people that go missing. Having these tables to remember them and for the visibility of this population is so important. I am honored to have been able to attend the ceremony of the second remembrance table at the Council on Aging.

Though we have been out of formal session, that does not mean that the legislative part of my job slows down too much.  During this period I love being able to take the time to speak with constituents, work on constituent cases, and continue learning about the issues that are important to them.  This is such a huge part of my job and is something that I take very seriously.  I love being able to answer questions on topics that constituents want to know more about, and contacting my office is a great way to learn more these bills and their status. One part of this is my office hours as well for people who are unable to make it to our office.  Either myself or my legislative aide are always there to help assist you with any state issue we can or we can always take your info down to follow up with you.  You can find one of us there every Thursday at the Westfield Council on Aging at 11am.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns about bills or any other issue, please don’t hesitate to reach out! My office can be reached at [email protected] or (413) 572-3920. Have a great week!
