Vendors sought for free concert series

WESTFIELD – The first of four free Westfield Concert Series Powered by Westfield Gas and Electric is July 24, and in addition to headliner 33 1/3 Live Killer Queen Experience and special guest Matty Bussell, organizers have teamed up with Western Mass Shop Local for a vendor event.

Western Mass Shop Local works with small, local businesses to reach more people and network within the local community. The group plans events featuring small businesses, makers, artisans, etc. and helps to raise money for local organizations and charities.

Concert promoters Jason Polan and Jay Pagluica wanted to add to the concert experience and teamed up with the Shop Local group.

“To me the partnership is another example of community,” said Polan. “Providing vendors a location to physically sell their goods is a good thing for the community after a year when they could only sell online. It’s good for everyone!”

Vendors that offer a variety of products are being sought for the concerts. Some of the unique vendors that will attend include Crafting In My Free Time by Jessica Dziewit, Heather’s Gourmet Treasures by Heather Talbot, LuLaRoe by Heather Newman, MacRenée Macramé by Renée Zborowski, Myria’s Creations by Myria Emmons, No’Co Crochet by Nora O’Connell.

Western Mass Shop Local’s goal is to feature 120-200 uniquely different sellers across its event series and are currently about 50% of the way there.

Applications to participate in the Western Mass Shop Local event at the concerts are available at westfieldlivemusic.com or email [email protected]. Vendors are asked to also provide a raffle item for each concert, the proceeds of which will benefit Westfield on Weekends and the Westfield Kiwanis.

The concerts take place behind the Boys and Girls Club. The show opens at 5:30 p.m. for the vendor event and food trucks, with the opening act Matty Bussell, a 12-year-old singer from Westfield, at 6:45 p.m. and headliner at 7:30 p.m. The vendor raffle drawing is scheduled for 9 p.m.

The Westfield Concert Series Powered by Westfield Gas and Electric continues Aug. 28 with the Big ’80s Dance Party with Kategory 5, Sept. 25 with Jingo, a Santana tribute, and ends Oct. 16 during PumpkinFest with Rewind to Vinyl: ’60s-’90s Hits.
