Whalley, Rams silence Panthers

SOUTHWICK – If there one Ram who earned a high-five for his latest effort in a high school boys soccer game, it is Paul Whalley.
Whalley had a hand in four scores Wednesday, tallying two goals and two assists as Southwick shut out Palmer 5-0.
He was not alone in his effort though.
Nick Ensign scored twice, Nick Brown had a goal and an assist, and Cade Billings and Mason Imbriglio each had an assist.
Southwick goalie Josh Harriman made five saves to earn a shutout in net.

Westfield 163, Ludlow 179
Joey Calderella and Brian Daly each shot a 179 for Westfield at Ludlow Country Club. The Bombers improved to 6-1.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Westfield def. Central 25-10, 25-16, 25-21
Westfield improved to 5-2 overall, 3-0 Western Division with solid outings from Viktoria Pavlyuk (7 kills, 5 aces, 4 digs), Maia Kelso (6 kills), Brigid Moriarty (16 assists), and Irelis Rodriguez (9 digs, 2 aces).

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Minnechaug 15, Westfield 50; Northampton 15, Westfield 50
Despite a pair of losses, Westfield (1-4) logged some incredible personal records and several girls are getting faster as the season continues.
Shea McDonald and Shauna Feyre each shaved nearly two minutes off their best times in 25:30 and 34:34, respectively; Abby Fraiser beat her personal best by 1:40 with a 26:01 finish; Jenna Brown clipped a minute from her time (25:29); and, Jasmine Hooper (25:29), Nicole Seretnik (25:13), and Luna Daury (27:25) also showed improvement.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Minnechaug 24, Westfield 35; Northampton 15, Westfield 47
Minnechaug’s Christian Fuehr won the race in 17:31.36, and Northampton swept the second through sixth spots.
Westfield placed ninth (Antonio Phaneuf, 19:33.48), 10th (Raphael Morganelli, 19:34.92), and 11th (Kaleb Cree, 19:35.44).
