“Finally!”
That was the word 46-year-old Westfield resident Chris White used to describe last Sunday’s victory in our weekly pro football contest, “Beat ‘The Putz’”.
A long-time participant, White went 11-1 (besting my 10-2 mark I might add) to claim his first-ever weekly prize. He survived a two-way tie by picking the closest tiebreaker total at 46 points.
“Everybody gets lucky once in a while,” he jokingly said.
White said there was a little bit more at play than just luck, admitting that he pored over the latest lines, current records, seasonal data, and plain-old gut feeling.
“Kind of a little bit of everything,” he noted. “Sometimes I overthink it.”
Whatever White did, it was worth the effort as he claimed a gift certificate to The Tavern restaurant and qualified for our grand prize drawing of a flat-screen television, courtesy of Manny’s TV & Appliances.
If you missed out on the opportunity for a chance to win any of these prizes, pick up the latest copy of The Westfield News and start making your picks today.
There are several intriguing games in Week 7, highlighted by the Pats-Jets. And don’t forget about our Sunday night tiebreaker, Eagles-Panthers. Good luck! – CP
