WHS attacks Wahconah

WESTFIELD – The Westfield High School girls’ lacrosse team climbed above .500 for the first time this season with an 11-8 win over Wahconah Saturday.
Olivia Chaoush led the Westfield attack with four goals, and Rachel Gelina (2 assists) and Laura Paye tallied two goals apiece.
Wahconah’s Emmy Cote scored five goals.
Westfield goalie Maileen Kozak finished with 12 saves. It was the Bombers’ second straight victory following a loss in their season opener.

Allie Hunt went 3-for-5 with a home run as Pittsfield spoiled Westfield’s home opener Friday.
The Bombers managed just four hits – one each from Karly Mastello (double, run scored), Rachel Swords (RBI), Grace Templeton, and Cara Onyski.
Westfield (0-1) will look to bounce back Monday against West Springfield at Mittineague Park. First pitch is at 4 p.m.
