LONGMEADOW – The Westfield High School golf team’s late season magical surge continued Thursday with a 243-252 win over Cathedral at Franconia Golf Course.
It was the second straight day the two teams met.
For Westfield, it was the second victory over Cathedral in two days. With the win the Bombers finished the regular season 9-10 overall, but more importantly, 5-3 in league play, good for second place and a Western Massachusetts Division I championship berth.
“The kids played awesome – they played hard,” Westfield coach Chris Strycharz said.
Jeremy Doody shot a team-low 38 for the second straight day. Connor Sullivan improved over the course of 24 hours, bettering his outing by one stroke. He finished with a 39.
