WESTFIELD – Penalties plagued the Westfield High School girls’ lacrosse team Monday as Belchertown won the big Valley League matchup 10-7.
It was the second straight loss for the school’s lacrosse program in three days. On Saturday, Amherst edged the WHS boys’ lacrosse team, 8-7, in overtime.
Kevin Papineau (3 goals), Ryan Wilson (1 goal, 4 assists), Matt Lacroix (1 goal, 1 assist), Chris Pray (1 goal), and Justin Halls (1 goal, 1 assist) led the offense for Westfield.
Bombers’ goalie Jake Cupak finished with 20 saves.
Westfield’s Ethan Nassar and Brian Jensen led the defense.
