Briand stays unbeaten; WHS, STM lose

WESTFIELD – The Westfield High School boys’ tennis team may have lost to Minnechaug 4-1 Monday, but one Bomber continued to make noise.
Loeiz Briand defeated Patrick O’Shea 6-2, 6-0 for Westfield’s lone win. Briand remained unbeaten in regular season play, continuing to generate excitement for Western Massachusetts playoff season.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Mohawk 4, St. Mary 1
Caroline Francouer and Jenna Turini won at first doubles for St. Mary. Saints’ second doubles pair, Jessica Demers and Mariah Suarez, lost a tough 3-setter, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5.
