WESTFIELD – Junior Kelly Kenney (Suffield, Conn.) scored two goals and freshman Holly Brouillette (Burlington, Mass) tallied a goal and an assist to lead Westfield State University to a 5-1 non-conference field hockey victory over Roger Williams University on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Roger Williams, 1-1, jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as Meghan Curran scored in the third minute. Despite the early setback, Westfield State applied consistent pressure and outshot Roger Williams by a 25-8 clip for the game.
Westfield, 2-0, then took control by scoring four goals in an 11-minute span of the first half. Brouillette started the scoring blitzkrieg for Westfield, tying the game in the 18th minute.

Westfield State University is idle until next Saturday, Sept. 14, when it hosts Eastern Connecticut State University in its Little East Conference opener.
