WESTFIELD – The Westfield Voc-Tech High School softball team received a solid effort from the mound and at the plate Tuesday in a 15-1 rout of Commerce at Whitney Field.
Voc-Tech pitcher Megan Illnicky (no walks) recorded seven strikeouts, and went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs. Tigers’ Brandi Vangelder (3-for-5), Jackie Gaulin (2-2), Cathie Iglesias (2-4), and Elyza Colson (home run) provided the bulk of the offense.
Katie Nesmelova, Amber Lindsay, and Steffany Costa also each had a hit for Voc-Tech.
