Bombers open road to victory

EASTHAMPTON – Opening night went just as well as planned for the Westfield High School swim program. Both the Bombers’ boys’ and girls’ swim teams enjoyed overwhelming victories over Easthampton Friday at Williston-Northampton School.
GIRLS’ RESULTS
Westfield 135, Easthampton 50

It was an impressive first outing for the Westfield girls’ swim team as the Bombers produced seven different individual winners, and delivered gold in the relay races.
Westfield’s Lizzie Fraser (200 freestyle, 2:12.21), Kelsey Johnstone (200 individual medley, 2:17.34), Sara Russell (50 free, 28.0), Clarisse Jones (diving, 184.15), Madi Robitaille (100 free, 1:01.33), Alexis Bradley (100 backstroke, 1:09.05), and Kate McCabe (100 breaststroke, 1:23.54) each placed first.
The Bombers also won the 200 yard medley relay (2:08.11), 200 yard freestyle relay (1:57.63), and 400 yard freestyle relay (4:09.28).
BOYS’ RESULTS
Westfield 118, Easthampton 45

Nicholas Rosso won two events to lead Westfield – the 200 IM (2:10.96) and 500 free (5:14.49) – and combined forces with his teammates to post a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (2:03.71).
Cole Viamari also captured two victories for the Bombers, claiming first in the 100 free (56.49) and 100 breaststroke (1:15.60)
Samuel Cloutier (200 free, 2:09.50), Jaydon Wood (50 free, 25.63), Gabriel Centeno (100 fly, 1:08.16), and Patrick Lurgio (1:05.72) also won for Westfield.
The Bombers claimed first place in the 400 free relay with a time of 4:25.48, and 200 free relay in 1:53.70.
