Double trouble

HATFIELD – Southwick doubled up Gateway in a high school boys basketball game 74-35 Thursday night at Smith Academy’s Falcons Holiday Classic.
Southwick stormed out of the gate on a 22-6 run, and led 48-13 at the half en route to a convincing victory.
Southwick produced four scorers with double-digits – Connor Roy (12 points), Josh Lis (11), Ryan Molta (10), and Dylan Parrow (10).
Evan Cortis and Dylan Lafreniere led Gateway with 12 and nine points, respectively.

Red Raiders run past Saints
Athol 63, St. Mary’s 25
Athol’s Bryce King led all scorers with 15 points in the Red Raider Holiday Tournament.
St. Mary’s Aaron Blanchard scored team-high seven points. Mike Pepe and Brady Collins had five apiece for the Saints, who were on the road for the first time this season.

Rams fall at home
Pioneer 33, Southwick 24

Southwick lost a tough one at home against Pioneer. Maura Wurster and Maya Daley scored six points each for the Rams. In JV action, Southwick downed Pioneer 32-15. Michelle St. Jacques led the Rams with 10 points.
