Errors plague Tigers

THREE RIVERS – The Westfield Voc-Tech High School softball team built an early lead against Pathfinder late Monday morning, but the Pioneers scored 14 unanswered runs en route to a 14-3 victory.
Eliza Colson hit a two-run double and scored on a passed ball to put Voc-Tech out front, 3-0. Pathfinder whittled the Tigers lead down to a 3-3 tie by the end of the third inning. The Pioneers took the lead with a 4-run fourth inning, thanks to two errors, a hit batter, and a walk.
Pathfinder blew open the game with the aid of four more Voc-Tech errors, four hits, and two walks throughout the fifth and sixth innings.
Amber Lindsay had a hit for Voc-Tech, and teammate Jackie Gaulin drew three walks.

Smith Academy 10, Westfield Voc-Tech 0
Voc-Tech delivered a solid effort until the fourth inning when five errors led to seven unearned runs for Smith Academy, who led 3-0 prior to the offensive outburst late Friday.
Colin Fecteau allowed no earned runs in four innings on the mound for Voc-Tech. Tigers’ pitcher Ramon Avelle gave up no runs in three innings of relief.
Voc-Tech finished with four hits.
