WESTFIELD – Lexi Minicucci scored the lone Westfield goal on a pass from Ashlee Owen in the Bombers’ 3-1 loss to Minnechaug yesterday. Karly Mastello (12 saves) kept the Bombers close throughout with solid goaltending.
“Westfield needs to find their charge,” said Westfield coach Karen Gomez, whose Bombers are on the cusp of earning their first postseason berth under her direction. “We’ve got a couple games to search for that final point, and hopefully make some noise in the playoffs.”

sticks of visiting Minnechaug Regional High School 2-1. However, it is important to note that today’s game was quite an improvement over their 6-0 loss on September 17th against the same Lady Falcons team.
In the first half, Westfield goalkeeper Jourdan Frisbee made two saves, but also allowed the two Minnechaug goals.
Trailing 2-0 at the half, the Lady Bombers entered the second half of the game on a mission to keep the game offensively charged and score, which they did. Grace Silva netted Westfield’s only goal of the game off an Elizabeth Marcyoniak assist and sparked the offensive attack.
Despite their efforts, the Lady Bombers came up short when time ran out. Minnechaug had only one shot on goal during the second half and Westfield goalkeeper Lexi Levere made a beautiful save.
JV’s record is now 9-3 overall.
