Westfield Technical Academy High School baseball freshmen Josh Sturmer and Colby Nadeau were named co-MVPs for the Westfield News High School Player of the Week when the Facebook Poll voting came to an end late Thursday.
Sturmer and Nadeau went a combined 5-for-9 against Putnam with two doubles, six RBIs and three runs scored to fuel a 3-0 week with wins over Putnam, Belchertown and Franklin Tech.
Nadeau also tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings against Belchertown; Sturmer came up with two defensive gems against Franklin Tech, snaring two relatively hard hit balls behind the second base bag in consecutive at-bats for outs.
