HUNTINGTON – It was good times all around at Gateway Regional’s home complex Tuesday.
While the girls’ softball team capped off senior day festivities with a victory, the boys’ baseball team celebrated a high-scoring win over visiting Holyoke Catholic shortly thereafter.
Gateway exploded for seven second-inning runs, and tacked on four more in the fifth en route to a 12-9 win. The Gators improved to 7-7.
Geoff Sobotka (2-for-3, 3 RBIs), Curtis Dowers (3-4, 2 RBIs), Willis Pollard (2-4, 3 RBIs), Calvin Dowers (hit, 2 RBIs), and Johnny Haskell (hit, 2 RBIs) led the Gateway hit attack.
James DeGray picked up the save for the Gators.
