WESTFIELD – In a religious context, the number seven often has a heavenly connotation associated with it. But on Monday, it had a whole different meaning to a team of Saints.
Seven different Gateway Gators scored goals to silence the St. Mary Saints 7-0 in a high school girls’ soccer game at Westfield Middle School North.
Montey Moses, Alyssa Moreau, Jessica Van Huynigen, Ali Fisk, Charlotte Lebaron, Jesse Walton, and Kendall Rooney each tallied goals for Gateway. Gators’ Sam Steck, Van Huynigen, Fisk, and Sam King each notched assists.
Gateway goalies Sara Oterbeck (1 save) and Becca Herman combined for a shutout.
The Gators (9-2-3) next play at Smith Academy Friday at 4 p.m.
