WESTFIELD – Little League All-Star season might be over but there is a little something going on at Sadie Knox that is a big deal to some local ball players and their families, friends, and fans.
Erin Gour hit for the cycle and smacked a walk-off hit to lead Westfield’s 14U Suburban softball team, The Batter’s Box Renegades, past Turners Falls 20-19 in a thrilling semifinal Wednesday night at Sadie Knox Field.
Gour homered, tripled, and doubled in the game.
Katie Joyner, who tossed five innings for Westfield, doubled twice on offense. Katelyn Baker, Bri Sulikowski, Ava Cichnoski, and Megan Cichonski delivered multi-hit efforts. Baker finished with four hits.
Carly James led the way on the base paths, stealing two bases. Megan Cichonski provided two solid innings of relief for Batter’s Box.
The Batter’s Box advance to take on West Springfield in the 14U championship Thursday night at Sadie Knox at 7.
