Indians chase Rams; Saints bow to Pioneers

WARE – Jordan Halgas led all scorers with 18 points, and the Ware High School girls’ basketball team handed Southwick its first loss of the season Monday, 46-41.
Sadie Simons chipped in 11 for the Indians.
Ware outscored Southwick in each of the first two quarters – 12-9 and 13-11 – to build a 25-20 halftime lead. The two teams were evenly matched over the final two quarters, tying 8-8 and 13-13.
Brooke Waitt scored 10 points apiece for Southwick, and Sam Perusse had seven, both career highs.

Ware 21, Southwick 19
Autumn Waitt scored seven and Emily Martins had six as Southwick fell in a narrow defeat.

Cybercats soar
Sci-Tech 53, Westfield Technical Academy 4
Dasha Wilson (12 points) and Danshia Franco (10) reached double-digits scoring to lead Sci-Tech at home.
Westfield Tech’s Samantha Vargas scored a team-high four points.

Hannoush paces Saints
Pathfinder 46, St. Mary 14
Pathfinder raced out to an early lead, and never looked back at home against visiting St. Mary. The Pioneers led 12-2 after the first quarter and 26-6 at the half.
Trista Daley scored a game-high 11 points for Pathfinder.
St. Mary’s Marissa Hannoush finished with a team-high six points.

In other games, Gateway and Commerce met in a game in the Gator Pit.
