WESTFIELD – Westfield State senior Kelsey Johnstone (Southwick/Westfield HS) was named the Little East Conference (LEC) Swimmer of the Week this past week, as announced by the conference earlier today.
Johnstone was named LEC Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season after winning two individual events in the Owls’ 134-100 win over Western Connecticut. She was first to touch the wall in the 200 freestyle (2:12.12) and 50-yard breaststroke (32.85) while also leading the 200 medley relay (2:00.14) to a victory. She swam a leg of Westfield State’s winning 400 freestyle relay (4:22.46) as the Owls topped Rhode Island College, 107-78, and was the top time in the 500 freestyle (5:58.00).
