Klinkowski claims three #1s

SOUTHWICK – Lexie Klinkowski won three events to lead Southwick in a girls’ track and field meet Monday against Palmer, 86-50. Klinkowski took first in the triple jump (29-9.5), high jump (4-8), and 100 hurdles (19.8).
Rams’ Ashley Consolini won two events – the long jump (14-6) and 400 hurdles (73.8).
Sarah Bodzinski (shot put, 25-9), Mikaela Martell (javelin, 88-2), Brooke Waitt (400 meters, 68.1), and Emily McKinney (800 meters, 2:50) each captured a first-place finish for Southwick. The Rams’ 4×400 (Waitt, Easter Kang, Sam Perusse, Abigail Howe) and 4×100 (Courtney Wheeler, Klinkowski, Fiona O’Donnell, Isabella Burns) relay teams won in 4:54.9 and 57.46, respectively.

Northampton 22, Westfield 12
WESTFIELD – Three players scored four goals apiece, and Northampton downed host Westfield.
Rachel Gelina (4 goals, 1 assist), Laura Paye (3 goals), and Olivia Chaoush (2 goals) paved the way for Westfield. Bombers’ goalie Maileen Kozak registered 11 saves.
“We were able to give them a good chase for most of the game and matched their intensity,” Westfield coach Paul Fenwick said, “but not for the whole game. We were unable to keep pace.”
Chapdelaine, Saints soar
St. Mary’s 19, Monson 18

St. Mary’s Lauren Chapdelaine tallied nine goals, and the Saints held off Monson in a thriller.
Erin Dow (2 goals, 4 assists), Jillian Watson (5 goals, 1 assist), and Aisling Butler (3 goals, 3 assists) also contributed for St. Mary’s.

St. Mary’s swept doubles competition, and singles players Kieran O’Donnell and Chris Patenaude won to help St. Mary claim victory in its season opener.
Top doubles pair Andrew Ilnicki and Patrick Boyle rallied to defeat Pioneer Valley Christian Academy’s Andrew Rossoshanskiy and Emil Tomasyan, 1-6, 6-4, 7-4. Garrett Almeida and Benjamin Rutledge defeated Kevin Sharpe and Ryan Smith, 6-0, 6-2.
O’Donnell defeated Chris Patenaude at second singles, 6-1, 6-6, (7-5); Armstrong destroyed Rhett Meak at third singles, 6-0, 6-0.
St. Mary’s top singles player, James Marasi lost a hard-fought match to Andrew Taft, 6-0, 4-6, 9-11.
