Marketing strategies in final phase for new food truck

WESTFIELD-Two local realtors with Keller Williams Realty are joining forces with the Westfield Food Pantry to launch marketing initiatives for a food truck which is currently being assembled.

“Kris Cook and Joanne Papadimitriou began volunteering with our holiday teen giving program, where we adopt teens in need, in cooperation with the Westfield Public Schools,” said Rebecca Hart, executive director, Westfield Food Pantry.

Hart noted that having the “commitment and support” of Cook and Papadimitriou will be critical to the food truck’s success.

“Both ladies plan to not only prepare food, but also serve it to those in need,” said Hart.

While the food truck is in its final stages of being assembled, the women have been meeting with Hart regularly and discussing marketing strategies.

“We are excited to be planning an open house where the public will be invited to see the food truck, and also our new prep kitchen on School Street,” said Hart.

The women will also be working on a virtual tour of the food truck and facilities which will be posted on the Westfield Food Pantry website and Facebook page.

Logistics are also being planned for businesses or organizations interested in renting the food truck for a particular event. For more details on that initiative, email Hart at [email protected].

Both women are ready after months of planning to soon take to the road and make a difference in the lives of others in the local area.

“I wanted to join a local organization that takes a hands-on approach to serving those in need,” said Papadimitriou. “I love volunteering with the Westfield Food Pantry because all of our work focuses on the needs of Westfield, and we truly make a difference in our clients’ lives.”

Cook shared a similar sentiment.

“I’m excited we can bring much-needed services to folks in need, and remove a huge barrier to services,” she said.
