Owls finish 4th at FP Invite

RINDGE, N.H. – The Westfield State University men’s cross country team finished fourth at the Franklin Pierce University Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 14.
The Owls totaled 83 points in the nine-team meet, trailing Franklin Pierce (39 points), AIC (49), and Merrimack (78). Westfield finished ahead of MASCAC rivals Fitchburg and Salem.
Senior Mike Kelleher was Westfield’s top runner, placing sixth in 17:45 on the rugged 5,000 meter layout. He was followed by a trio of freshmen: Ben Parzich (16th), Derik Noland (18th), and Chris Williams (19th). Sophomore Mike Skelly (24th) rounded out the Owls’ scoring.
AIC’s Mike Biwott crossed the finish line first with a fine time of 16:24.
