SPRINGFIELD – The Westfield State University women’s outdoor track and field team finished third in the Springfield College Invitational on Saturday.
Westfield compiled 104 points in the eight-team invitational, trailing Springfield (159) and WPI (157).
Freshman Naloti Palma was Westfield’s top performer, finishing first in the shot put (41-9 ¾) and second in the discus (128-6).

Also placing second were: Carolyn Connolly (800, 2:20.03), Amy Auclair (pole vault, 10-0), Alex Livingston (hammer throw, 140-5), 4 x 100 relay (50.40), and 4 x 400 relay (4:10.54).
Senior Karen Dowe was third in the long jump with a fine effort of 17-3/4. Sophomore Kat Palso placed fifth in both the long jump (16-6) and triple jump (32-8 ½).
Finishing third were Rachael Cardin in the 800 (2:20.31) and Meghan McNamara in the 100 hurdles (15.56).
