WESTFIELD – Aiden VanOsteen, 14, of Westfield recently completed a trip to play in the London Cup games.
VanOsteen, who will be entering his freshman year this fall at Westfield High, served as the goalie for the elite Global Premier Soccer team. He also received the opportunity to attend a Chelsea-Manchester United soccer game.
VanOsteen has been a Westfield soccer player since age 7, playing for the city’s Parks & Recreation Department, and then Westfield United (now known as Westfield FC).
VanOsteen worked hard to save money for the trip and received a bit of a boost from the Westfield Soccer Club. The Westfield FC Board of Directors helped sponsor the trip in exchange for pictures of VanOsteen representing his team with his Westfield jersey overseas.
