Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012
12:19 a.m.: liquor law violation, Arnold Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a female party drinking from a can of beer on Arnold Street, the officer reports the woman said she has recently moved to the city and is not familiar with local ordinances, the beer can was emptied and the woman was advised to dispose of it properly;
6:50 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have expired registration, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:31 p.m.: vandalism, East Mountain View Apartments, 138 E. Mountain Road, a caller reports her vehicle was vandalized, the responding officer reports that on Monday she had been asked to move her vehicle in her apartment complex’s lot and when she returned to it she found that the rear window wiper arm had been broken;
12:29 p.m.: harassment, Forest Glen Drive, a resident came to the station seeking a harassment order against a relative who has been allowed to live in her residence but who has become abusive, an emergency order was granted and served, the subject left the residence;
1:04 p.m.: larceny, Park Square Townhouses, 140 Union St., a resident came to the station to report a registration plate was stolen from his vehicle, the responding officer reports the complainant said that the New Jersey registration plate was known to be in place at 4 p.m. Friday but found to be missing on Saturday;
1:11 p.m.: vandalism, Court Street, a caller reports vandalism to an ATM machine and the glass door of a bank, the responding officer reports the ATM display was found to have been cracked and the interior glass door to the bank was damaged as if by BB or pellet impacts, the bank’s security video will be reviewed;
2:12 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to be operated by a person with a suspended license, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
4:42 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
7:45 p.m.: larceny, Montgomery Road, a resident came to the station to report the theft of his mailbox, the responding officer reports the complainant said that the mailbox had been in place the night before but was found to have been stolen about 3:30 p.m.;
8:24 p.m.: fire, Joseph Avenue, a caller reports a neighbor is burning in his yard and the ashes are coming into her yard, the respond firefighters report the resident extinguished his fire upon request;
9:04 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, Little River Road, a caller reports that while swimming her horses in the river she encountered a Jeep in the river embedded in mud, the responding officer reports the vehicle was extricated from the river and towed to the police impound yard;
9:37 p.m.: accident, Park Square, Elm and Broad streets, a caller reports a tractor trailer unit struck a number of the guard posts which encircle the Green, the debris was removed from the roadway and the DPW was notified;
11:59 p.m.: assault, East Main Street, a resident came to the station to report he was assaulted by his girlfriend’s uncle, the responding officer reports the complainant said that when he dropped his girlfriend off at her workplace he encountered her mother who wanted to talk with him, the man said that his girlfriend’s uncle was also present and the man grabbed his throat and lifted him off the ground, the man said when he broke free the other man left the area, the victim said that he does not wish to pursue criminal charges but wants the incident documented;

8:22 a.m.: found property, Robinson Drive at Sunrise Terrace, a caller reports finding a bicycle and a realty sign, the responding officer reports the property was transported to the station for safe keeping;
9:36 a.m.: fire, Sackett Road, a caller reports seeing black smoke that smells foul, the responding officer reports he located an address where residents had a smoldering fire in their fire pit which included a plastic bag, the residents were advised to be careful about what was burned;
11:28 a.m.: breaking and entering, Western Circle, a resident came to the station to report her vehicle was broken into overnight and money was stolen, the responding officer reports the vehicle was parked in her carport about 6:30 p.m. Friday and at 7 p.m. Saturday the unlocked vehicle was found to have been entered and a cup containing about $30 in coin was stolen;
2:34 p.m.: vandalism, Elm Street, a caller reports a rock was thrown through a window of a commercial building, the responding officer reports the caller said that sometime between 7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday a rock was thrown through a window on the north side of the building, the caller said that similar vandalism has been an ongoing issue for years but she believes it to be random vandalism;
4:33 p.m.: animal complaint, Whispering Winds Road, a caller reports her parents were exiting their vehicle when an unknown golden retriever dog jumped into the car and will not leave, a responding animal control officer reports the dog was scared by a storm and sought refuge in the car, the dog has no tags and was transported to the municipal animal shelter;
6:11 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a traffic enforcement officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have expired registration, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
6:26 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a traffic enforcement officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to be operated by a person with a suspended license, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
8:42 p.m.: Evergreen Manor Apartments, 919 Southampton Road, a caller reports a fire in a rubbish container, the responding officer report a smoldering fire in a refuse bin was extinguished.
