8:17 a.m.: vandalism, North Elm Street, a caller reports a former boyfriend damaged her yard, the responding officer reports the caller said that her plants were uprooted in her garden, her vehicle was entered and property was stolen, the responding officer reports that he was told that coin was stolen from the vehicle and sunglasses which had been inside it were found broken outside the vehicle, the caller said that she believes her former boyfriend who may have a key to the vehicle was responsible;
10:01 a.m.: assault, Lowell Avenue at Granville Road, a caller reports a woman was pushed down, the responding officer reports that a woman said she went to the home of her former husband’s parents to pick up her four-year-old son and the boy ran out of the house to her car, the officer was told that while the woman was putting her son in the vehicle his grandmother came chasing after him and her boyfriend interposed himself between the woman and the car, the woman said that man bumped her with his chest with sufficient force to knock her down, a criminal complaint was filed;
11:08 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Union Street, a caller reports that a person is washing his vehicle in violation of the current water use restrictions, the responding officer reports the man was advised of the complaint and agreed to stop washing his vehicle;
12:59 p.m.: city ordinance violation, Cross Street, a caller disconnected abruptly after reporting that a person is using water in violation of the current water use restrictions, the responding officer reports the man said he was using water to repair a pump but said that he was well aware of the calling party and agreed to wait to work on the pump until the next day;
1:27 p.m.: animal complaint, Russell Road, a caller reports he struck a deer with his vehicle and it is stuck in his vehicle and still alive, the responding officer reports the operator said that a deer crossed the path of his vehicle and he was unable to avoid it, the man said that the deer became airborne and came down striking a window which it crashed through, the officer reports the deer is alive, an animal control officer responded and reports the deer is deceased, the deer carcass was transported to the Twiss Street transfer station and the car was towed to the police impound yard;
4:38 p.m.: assist other agency, Summit Lock Road, a probation officer faxed a probation violation warrant and requested that an officer attempt to take the subject into custody at his workplace, the responding officer reports that the man was found at his workplace and had neglected to charge the battery in his GPS bracelet, Jhamal Luis Cruz, 23, of 235 State St., Springfield, was arrested on the warrant;
6:22 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Southampton Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports the operator was found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Joshua M. Santos, 24, of 73 Grover St., was arrested on the warrant, a passenger took custody of the vehicle;
8:33 p.m.: breaking and entering, Western Massachusetts Hospital, 91 E. Mountain Road, a caller reports one of the hospital’s out buildings has been entered, the responding officer reports that the caller said that the alarm for the old boiler plant sounded but there is no evidence that it was entered except for the sighting of a vehicle leaving the area of the building;
9:10 p.m.: fireworks complaint, Tannery Road at Old Farm Road, a caller reports fireworks in the area, the responding officer reports a resident said that he was using up a few fireworks left over from Independence Day and has expended his supply, the man was advised of the complaint and the possible repercussions of disturbing the peace of the neighborhood;
10:08 p.m.: fireworks complaint, Pauline Lane, a caller reports a neighbor has been throwing out fireworks for the past half hour, the responding officer reports a resident said that he had used up his supply, the man was advised of the pertinent law and the possible repercussions for violating it;

12:09 a.m.: disturbance, East Silver St., a caller reports her former boyfriend barged into her residence and stole her cellphone before fleeing when he learned she was speaking by phone with her father, the responding officer reports the woman’s father went to his daughter’s after he heard of the incident while he was speaking with his daughter but found the man was gone, the officer reports the suspect was sought at his parent’s home, Robert J. Wensley, 36, of 11 Russellville Road, Southampton, was arrested for breaking and entering in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony and larceny of property valued more than $250;
7:11 a.m.: larceny, North Elm Street, a caller reports the tailgate was stolen from his pickup truck overnight while he was working, the responding officer reports the company’s security video will be reviewed;
9:14 a.m.: officer wanted, North Elm Street, a caller reports an unattended young boy said he is looking for his mother, the responding officer reports he found that the boy had been left in the care of a 15-year-old babysitter and wandered away from home while the babysitter was sleeping;
10:29 a.m.: larceny, Sackett Road, a caller reports the contents of her purse were stolen while it was hanging in her closet, the responding officer reports the caller said that she has not switched purses and the contents were intact the night before but are now gone, the officer reports there were no signs of forcible entry and no other property in the residence was disturbed;
12:49 p.m.: larceny, Mullen Avenue, a caller reports power tools were stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that over the past six weeks a variety of power tools have been stolen from his unlocked garage, the officer reports a neighbor said that she suspects a relative with substance abuse problems may have stolen the tools;
1:48 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, a resident came to the station to report her wallet was stolen from a shopping cart, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she inadvertently left her purse in her shopping cart after she unloaded groceries from the cart and when she realized what she had done and returned for her purse she found it was gone and had not been turned in at the store;
3:00 p.m.: fire, Robinson Drive, a caller reports a burning complaint, the responding firefighters report a resident was advised of the pertinent law and extinguished the fire;
3:46 p.m.: found property, Morris Street, a caller reports finding a new bicycle on his porch which he believes may have been stolen, the responding officer reports he found a nearby resident who suggested a possible owner, a relative of the boy suggested as the owner confirmed it to be his bike and took custody of it;
4:30 p.m.: breaking and entering, Stanley Park, Western Avenue, a caller reports a window of her vehicle was broken to gain access, the responding officer reports the victim said that she had parked her vehicle at the park while she went for a walk and when she returned to it she found a window had been smashed and her purse had been stolen;
5:46 p.m.: vandalism, Franklin Avenue, a caller reports that her vehicle was broken into and her neighbors may be responsible, the responding officer reports a 10-year-old neighbor admitted throwing rocks which damaged the car, the boy’s family agreed to make restitution;
8:19 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, Southampton Road, a caller reports a vehicle has been parked at a pizza restaurant for more than a week, the responding officer reports that Easthampton police were notified and report nobody was home at the address the vehicle is registered to, the vehicle’s keys were taken to the station for safe keeping;
8:50 p.m.: larceny, Russell Road, a caller reports the theft of cash from her home, the responding officer reports the caller said that a long-time friend came to visit with two persons she does not know and she left them alone briefly, the woman said that when she returned her visitors were gone and she found that cash had been stolen;
9:35 p.m.: officer wanted, Hancock Street, a caller reports a youthful neighbor is shooting from his window, the responding officer reports he spoke with youths who denied shooting a pellet gun, the officer advised the youths of the possible repercussions of such activity;
9:38 p.m.: officer wanted, Malone Avenue, a caller reports a male party chased him, the responding officer reports the caller could not describe the person who chased him and nobody was found, the officer provided the caller and his friends a courtesy transport back to his vehicle on Smith Avenue.
