Rams celebrate twice as hard

SOUTHWICK – The Southwick Regional High School field hockey team had two reasons to celebrate on game day.
Southwick senior Devan Fox scored a first quarter goal and the Rams held on to defeat the Northampton Blue Devils 1-0 on “Senior Night’ Wednesday at home.

The hometown Southwick Rams celebrated a victory and the efforts of six seniors – Fox, Grace Brockbank, Emma Cheffer, Avey Glynn, Sam Pitoniak, and Jayden Wilson.
Rams goalie Ezri Johnston made four saves to earn a shutout.

Spartans nip Bombers
East Longmeadow 1, Westfield 0

Sophia Sares scored the game-winner for East Longmeadow. Spartans goalie Natalie Merrick (6 saves) earned the shutout.
Westfield goalie Lindsey Brown made two saves.

Tigers complete unbeaten regular season; await postseason seeding
Westfield Technical Academy 8, Commerce 2

Westfield Technical Academy completed an unbeaten regular season, defeating Commerce to finish with a record of 12-0-3.
David Bulatov recorded a hat trick for Westfield Tech. Tigers’ Nick Povar had two goals, and Manny Litvac, Jon Vella, and Alec Smith each also scored one.
Every Westfield Tech player received playing time.
“It was a good team win where everyone contributed,” Westfield Tech boys soccer coach Kyle Dulude said. “Hopefully we can keep it rolling next week.”

Gillian Bourque (12 aces, 15 assists, 1 kill), Lina Carr (10 aces, 3 kills), Aniya Kamara (4 aces, 4 kills), Georgiana Andrade (5 aces, 4 kills, 1 block), Emily Hanifan (1 ace, 2 kills), Mia Pompi (3 aces, 1 kill), and Emily Buchter (5 aces, 1 dig) led Southwick to a road victory.
