Rams pin Gators; O’s tip Saints

SOUTHWICK – Southwick bested Gateway 66-12 in a high school wrestling match Wednesday night.

Miguel Gonzalez (152 pounds), Zavier Gonzalez (170), Josh Sutton (182), Tyler Orban (195), and Trevor Desruisseaux (220) each earned a pin to lead Southwick to victory.
Gateway’s Brandon Daniel pinned his opponent at 120 pounds.
Southwick returns to action Wed., Dec. 21 at Westfield. Gateway next travels to Smith Vocational Dec. 28.

Kenny Bonney, Aaron Blanchard, Quinn Powers, Shawn Gezotis, and Peter Chrisanthopoulos scored one goal apiece in St. Mary’s season debut at Amelia Park Arena.
St. Mary goalie Val Reopel finished with 23 saves. Matt Brady also had seven saves for the Saints.
Next up for St. Mary: Mount Everett Dec. 21 at Amelia at 8 p.m.
