HUNTINGTON – Kendall Rooney had one goal and one assist to lead No. 3 Gateway past sixth-seeded McCann Tech 2-0 in a Western Massachusetts Division IV girls’ soccer quarterfinal game Tuesday night.
Jessica Van Heynigen also scored for the Gators.
Gateway moves on to face No. 2 Cathedral in the semifinals.
On Wednesday, the Gators’ boys’ soccer team will take on Hopkins Academy, the tournament’s top seed, in the semis at Northampton High School at 7 p.m.
